Having a passion for training and 20 years of experience in the area of quality management and skill development, she performed in various roles like Quality Manager, Delivery Excellence Manager, SMO, Competency Manager and Training Manager. She manages the Technical Training for Sonata Software Limited. Her contribution in the areas of designing courses, LMS, Training Insight Portal, and more creatively reaching out to people in terms of building the technical competencies, helps serving the needs of projects and customers. Her inquisitiveness for data and details allows her to visualize and present it more efficiently.

Every organization today has excellent systems in place to support them with the business processes, information flows, data analytics and reports to effectively manage their business. But not many might have focused on integrating LMS with these enterprise systems. Doing this would surely address some of the challenges in the system and boost the overall effectiveness of the organization.

Let us identify some of these challenges to make it easier to understand and address them.

Quick ramp up of resources with required skill set aiming at 100% billability:

The pace at which organizations are growing and the hustle and bustle of people moving in and out of the organization today calls for keeping track of past, present and future skill sets and the availability of people with the required skill sets. With the improved analytical tools and reports, a 360 degree view of this information can be provided. This information will help take valuable decisions and improve the turnaround time to ramp up resources.

Too much dependency ending up in spending more time and effort:

We must agree that a lot of time and effort is spent around coordinating and getting the information with respect to the skills and competencies of individuals and their suitability to address the immediate project requirements.

Frequent changes in the dynamics with respect to the industry and all stakeholders demand systems that are less dependent on one and another. Integration of LMS can narrow the dependency resulting in smooth and effective functioning of the organization.

Consolidating the information in a way to avoid these dependencies and integrating LMS that helps map skill sets to the current and future project requirements would help organizations optimize its effectiveness.

Retain Talent:

Every organization strives to have the best of the talent and retain it. This can be possible by not only providing continuous learning opportunities, but by making the taskforce ready to take up any challenging job within no time. The drive here is for people to think for themselves and not being forced to choose the area of work. There would be optimum effectiveness if one understands the requirement and is able to map himself/herself to the available opportunities. Employees can stay motivated while working on any challenging job and keep up with the latest trends, if given their own choice and voice, with more intelligent systems.

What is the impact of integration on key stakeholders?

Learn just what is needed, does today’s system prompt what is needed?

The missing link is what is required for whom and when, does today’s system provide these links?

Did I spend time and effort on learning what is required, does today’s system show the ROI?

Business requires people to learn the new technologies introduced at a rapid pace and implement them immediately. Does this information reach out to the people who are supposed to learn and implement on time. If integration of the LMS with the enterprise system can provide this information, employees will be able to leverage it and manage their time to learn and implement. Projects will know who has the expertise and if he/she is available to take up the task immediately. This eases the allocation and reduces the bench time as well. Time and effort of all stakeholders will be spent in the right direction if such systems are at the discretion of people in the organization.
